Re: Finally seeing the light of day

I got it on ebay..... it is a copy of one of those early bates style. holds a 5" sealed beam. It was not expensive! They also had side mounting versions also,

More progress! Got the head torqued on and have push rods and rockers all in. Started connecting all the plumbing..... need to get a little longer piece of oil line. Starting to look like something!

Re: Finally seeing the light of day

Oh ya....sometimes it's hard to make things simple and look good, i find. Bike looks great in the pic and i know they look even better in real. That's a sweet bob. Very nice worksmanship.

Re: Finally seeing the light of day

Richard, I don't know how big you are or the condition of your back but I would think a little more seat spring might be in order. But the bike is looking great.

Re: Finally seeing the light of day

A little more progress...... seems like there's always something that slows you down some. Had to straighten the Amal bowl cover so the gasket had a chance of sealing. Made a neat little fixture to hold it in my lathe while I faced the surface and straightened it all out.... Hope it doesn't leak.... or I'll be turning up some new covers! The latest dilemma was how to plumb the gas lines.... made a little manifold.... hope there's enough room for all this!!!! Tonight I'll be seeing if my plans are worth a shit! Then some wiring.... and making sure I didn't forget anything.... and then hopefully we will get the "bang" with the with the "suck and squeeze"..... then the "blow"!!!!!
