The kids first vehicle

Josh got his first vehicle, old rusty S10 Blazer. It has been in the family for many years and was passed down to him today. He is pumped! I am going to pick up 1/4's for it and fenders, shoot it flat black and lower it. It is going to be a cool 1st ride!

Cool! I did about the same thing for my boy. '83 Isuzu pick up. Painted it, fixed it all up and handed him the keys. He drove the wheels off of it. It was funny that after a while he started calling it a P.O.S. and had to have another car. 4 cars later he comes up and says to me,"I miss my Isuzu". I laughed, allot!

Something about your first ride ya just never forget!

Re: The kids first vehicle

My dad bought me my first car at age 12 because we had THAT much work to do on it! 1964 Chevy II (Nova). Got hit in the rear by a semi and we had to back-half the whole car. Dad said since we had already gone that far, might as well do it pro-street all the way. Mustang front clip, El-dorado big block, Ford 9" shaved and locked, full cage. Built it until I turned 16 and actually took my road test in it. The tester wasn't pleased sliding through the cage and fastening 5 point harnesses, and seemed even less enthused when he had to yell over the big block to tell me what to do for the test!

Re: The kids first vehicle

Fixing up the 1st car for the kid is great fun. My oldest, i picked up a VW Rabbit for nothing, needed clutch and CV joints, fixed those. Was an orange car, painted blach stripes on top and black panels on sides and showed him how to do reverse cookies.....he was in love.

The 2nd, I grabbed a 72 Monte Carlo an old lady had for cheap, paint faded but interior was spotless. Stuck in a nice stereo and a set of chrome smoothy wheels with baby moons with 60 series tires and he was in heaven.
