daughters future ride

Here is a little backgroud on the 59 fairlane. My mom bought this car 3 years old in "62" drove it for a couple years and then met my dad. She married him and moved to missouri and left the car at my grandmothers, which was the last time it ran. My father passed when i was 3 we moved back to new mexico when i was 7, My mom passed away a 4 years ago and had always wanted me to have the car, my daughter also has always liked it. She wants to drive it to school which is ok by me she is only 11 years old. It is OUR new project. I have a friend who gave us the wheels and had a 302 engine and trans donor car. Me and my daughter have already ulled engine and trans from the donor. I would break the bolts lose and she would remove them. Anyway thats where we are its going to take a long time to finish it but what the hell she is 11.

Re: daughters future ride

Totally agree....keep her close while you can.

Great project.......Those 59's are a classic looking ride and, at least around here, you don't see many of the 2-doors.

Re: daughters future ride

Always liked the 59's and a two door makes it better. What kind of donor engine and trans you puttin in? Is there a problem with the engine and trans that's in it now?

Have fun with your kids now cause when they grow up it just aint the same.

Re: daughters future ride

Im putting in a ford 302 and a c4 trans...I like alot of horsepower but its her first car so she dont need alot of power. While the car was sitting at my grandmothers house all these years she used to wash it while she watered her yard, well she also washed the engine regularly and the water got into the engine and turned it into a big ball of rust.
