Years ago I remember the theft of car computers (ECM's) was the big thing. They would break into the car, take the ECM out, put the panel back and close the door. people wouldn't know what happened until we gave them the bad news at the shop.
I was glad to see at the bottom of the article, that the scrap yards are getting involved. Taking ID and holding parts for 30 days. That's hard to do with cars here in Joisey cause the bodies that go into the crusher with them start to smell after two or three days.
