One noon walkabout last fall... cell pic looking SW at downtown Indianapolis from the War Memorial. The bronze is of a Roman soldier, carrying a flag

Re: Random Image Thread
The only Corvette I ever owned. '76 L-48 4-speed. These were the rubber-bumper years that nobody wanted... it wasn't powerful enough to get out of it's own way.
But the love I had for this thing was irrational and embarrassing.

Re: Random Image Thread
First time I drove one was at the dealership I worked for, the boss asked me to pull it into one of my co-workers bay. The shop had work benches built on block bases and as I pulled it into the bay my buddies eyes got wide open and he signaled me to stop which I was doing anyway. I got out and said what's the matter, he pointed to the front of the car, the nose was 1/4" away from the block bench. I thought I had plenty of room but that long nose really threw me off.
The other thing I remember most about those Vettes was the differential stub shafts and the 4 piston calipers that were sold in halfs. Used to love to see them come through the door at the dealership - well atleast after they were out of warranty.
