-political-
Since we're in a Presidential upcoming election, I personally dont think there's anything wrong with Bikers, talking politics.
Here's something to think about.
Two likely fundamental reasons folks will ''not'' vote either for McCain, or Obama.
There are folks who will not vote for Senator Obama, simply because he is a black man.
There are folks who will not vote for Senator McCain, simply because of President Bush's record, his many bad choices and judgements, and the perdicatment the country is in, under the Bush watch.
There is one common issue they share, and, 'is interesting about both candidates: ''They both talk of 'change'' for the country. Yet, McCain was part of the government machine, that he says he will change.
As a ''swing voter'', and watching the RNC last night (tuesday night), as I listened to them, and if I didnt know better, ''I could have easily thought 'they' were talking as if there has been a democratic president in office, for the last 8 years. (hehe)!
Speaker after speaker, 'slammed the government'', saying what all they would change when McCain becomes president. (I LMA0') Shoot he was part of the problems they want to change....(they made me laugh, it was so entertaining, I had to micro me some popCorn)

Re: -political-
Well first off, Mr McCain is going cut bait & let history eat Bush as it sees fit. He wants to distance himself from W as far as he can, he has the I"M DIFFERENT thing he is trying to push. I think his VP pick was genius. I mean how much farther could he have gone from DC, outside the main stream but still in the stream.
Mr. Obama, is also playing the I'M DIFFERENT card, and its not the race card either. He is trying to convince us that he is a DC newbe, and this will bring change. His VP pick seems a good fit, MR Biden is an experianced politician, and appears to be a stand up guy.
From what i see its going to be politics as usual not matter which one gets elected. Rape the American little guy so corperate America can reap the benifits. A prime example is the VETS comming home. The VA patches them together gives them a plastic arm or leg or whatever. Then they get forgotten. Oh uncle Sam sends them a check. Enough to raise a family on,i doubt it. Psychological problems (PTSD AMD sleep disorders) are ignored therefore no compensation for that disability.
Sorry i didn't mean to go off on a tangent.

Re: -political-
Guys,
Our goverment has a long history of treating Vets badly. This is not something new. But which candidate will change that for the better?
There are alot of questions people have to ask themselves before voting. You feel McCain was part of the problem that has to be changed, but Obama is a Senator and Biden is a long time Washington guy.
I know who I am voting for barring any unforseen circumstances but whomever gets in I hope it works for the country or it will get to the point I will not be able to afford to live here anymore.

oh no, you make some good points. Being an independent, I usually find myself,''voting against'' rather than ''for'' a candidate. The last one, I voted ''actually for'', was Reagan. Oh, I forgot, I voted for Dubya Bush, the first time, but against him the second time, becasue of the Invasion of iraq.
The Gal Governor from Alaska, was good wednesday night... She seems to be a tough cookie. We'll see when they get out on the stumping 'trails....Stagger Lee}

I am hopefull too and I didn't take it as pessimism. I don't think there is anyone here who doesn't hope/wish good things for the country. I do feel there are people leading this country that do not have the countries or the peoples best interest at heart and I think that is a problem. The fighting amongst the parties is getting out of hand. They all have to start working together.
The house and the senate probably have more to do with the shape the country is in then the President or VP but the President can veto what he doesn't like. After the elections screw thinking party and take care of business in the best way they can for the people of this country. I guess that's my little rant.

Re: -political-
Mutt I have to agree with screw thinking party......I think the first order of business for whoever makes it to the white house should be to repaint the damn thing a different color and do away with the party affiliations all together.
I don't mean just get along.
I mean no more party, No Democrat, No Republican, No Independent. Just people and public opinion.
No state electoral voting process.
Just Public voting, best man/woman gets the job.
This shit of slinging half the country one way and half the other way every 4 years is ridiculous.
Let some people sign up to run for office and then let each individual Americans vote be counted for their candidate.
Not well our state one republican you get our votes and our state won Democrat you get our votes....Thats bull shit and to me and always has been. But thats just my opnion.....
Hell maybe I got it all wrong, who knows at this point. All I do know is I was born an American and I will die one. I Love my country (Not all the people who run it) and I always will.
I know who I am voting for too, and again it's just my opnion......

> wonderful fore thoughts. Ya' know, after watching both conventions. I seem confused. Like a criminal trial. When ya' hear the ''closing arguments'' of each Lawyer. First the proscution states all their facts, and opinions. I tend to agree, and feel like he is probably right. However, then the Defense states their soCalled facts, and definately their opinions..well damn...I tend to think differently. shoot. I really liked Obamas closing arguments (acceptance speech) and likewise I liked McCains closing aruguments, that he will change what all Bush has not been able to do, and so 4th. boy, what a mess. {Stagger}

Re: -political-
I am digging Sarah Palin !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Obama has so little experience ....... and that scares me! It's not that he is black..... but what has he really done?
McCain HAS experience...... but to me it sort of feels like a "Bush clone". I am tired of Bush!
I really was wishing for better choices...... BUT Sarah Palin may be just the change we all want..... (of course you all know how these things go.... one thing is said and often times not followed thru on). Alaska seems to approve of Gov. Palin. And just think...... we wont have to have Hillary!!!! Would be very interesting if Sarah Palin became president...... McCain is older..... and ya never know!
I was considering not voting for a president..... but voting for everything else!
In a couple of months.... we will all know!
Hey....and Eli scored a TD..... start of another season!

Re: -political-
Being in Canada I must admit I am a little ignorant on US politics but I have been following the news a little here and there. I found it interesting on one program they said that W will go down as the worst president in US history? There is no questions that there has been some very hard times for all the US citizens under the present administration and it seems as the economy is at a all time low? Am I right?
