Re: Black Ice.

You folks might not have any trouble on how I'll weigh in...

Years ago, Rolling Stone I think came out with a lukewarm review of a AC/DC album (forget which one now) summarizing by saying it was basically the same album they'd put out 9 times previously.

Angus replied: "That's a filthy lie! We've put out the exact same record 12 times!"

That's basically what I feel now. I've heard the radio arrplay, and it's OK. But the show's the thing.

I have a ticket for the Nov. 3 show in Indianapolis, where I expect they'll play about 5 Black Ice tunes, then rip the place apart with the entire catalog.

Ive seen 'em with Chris Slade on drums, and Phil too, and he's back. Malcolm Young is sober. I look for a great time.

Saw 'em in '95 on the Ballbreaker tour, which was a throwaway record, but the show was the most awesome thing I've ever seen. I'm anticipating something similar.

Ha! I took my 13 year old guitarist son to Ballbreaker, and he's returning the favor: my ticket for this show ($95!!!) is my Christmas present!

"For those about to rock..."

FIRE!

Re: Black Ice.

Awesome! I have seen them twice, both times with Bon. Your going to have to post a special Big D review!

Re: Black Ice.

Up until today I had only heard a few cuts off of Black Ice and thought they were pretty cool, typical straight ahead acdc. Today I picked up the cd and had the chance to listen to the full cd while I travelled the back roads for work. Although cool I thought it overall a bit soft for acdc. hate to say it but I only give this one a 5 maybe a 6 out of 10. I sure miss Bon.

Kev... I disagree! Like you, I picked up the disc today, and I think this is as good as Back in Black. I count 12 strong cuts... "Stormy May Day" is the greasiest Delta blues tune I've heard.

Soft? Production, maybe. I blame that idiot Brendon O'Brien (Springsteen's guy)

Keep listenin', Kev. Give it a week.

These old farts play 6 or so of these in Indy on the 3rd, they'll tear the fieldhouse apart! This is balls out blues.

(Here's one for ya... Malcolm and Angus' combined age: 108!)

Me likey!

Re: Black Ice.

Great pic's, Kev. Especially of Bon.

Last time I saw 'em was '95 (ballbreaker) and the 40'ish Angus was still with the antics. Biggest hoot for me was the guitar solo during "I'm the Jack"; Angus saddled up a 350# roadie, and with about 4 more guys doing a football flying wedge, they ran the perimeter of Indy Market Square Arena.

We shall see how a 54 year old Angus does next week.

We are fortunate in that we are seeing the 3rd. show of an 18 month world tour. Jones won't have much screech power left before long...

We certainly are looking for your comments after the show. When Bon passed away there was a period where the band struggled with breaking up, Thank God they didnt! However there is no question that Bon was the best front man ever, period, for any band and I was never able to look at them as I did prior to his death when Brian came on as the front man.
