been back in the garage

trying to finish the little lady's first chop a hard tail at that.I have learned to slither on the floor to get htings done and yeah it is great to be back in there and I am starting to get that feel of where my tools are again. Now this is nothing compared to what i am used to doing before my accident what I did today was clean up all the welds clean all the flux off from the flux core which is great it penetrates deep and cut off the foot pegs she is so short we have to reweld them when she can sit and i will weld them in place then.So a lot of mild grinding,to flap disc , to wire wheel then remount the tank and mount the seat after cutting two inches off of the three springs welded to the bottom of seat just so she don't slide forward that is only good for bedroom time I had other things to do today this was last of course

Re: been back in the garage

Thanx I actually have three less now one lost due to it being crunched along with me and the two others just need to go they are too small and so i wouldn't chop them i have learned to go with semi sized engines and up so far semi sized my shadow is a 600vlx her shadow spirit 750 vt then two cb 750 chops for her and two cb 750 chops for me them my extreme long xs650 one of her cb 750 chops is not even put together i still have to modify that frame I have the engine in the garage though but don't chah think that flowerry seat and everything that goes with it will be just all so pretty for her definently a short chicks bike I think i will make her saddle bag with same flowers of course but add some butterflies also she digs it when I do her and her leather and chop werx a sickness of mine to do too much when will it stop? never when i die even if i was close to death and knew it i would still keep making what i love

Re: been back in the garage

with that rake it is almost as long as my xs650 chop the only reason why is cuz my xs has 40 degrees of rake in the frame making it a lot taller in stance so this chop for her is great and i am glad i worked out all my bugs in chopper ways to give her not what i started out with that would be just wrong. To me giving her what I have always wanted from the get go is the way to go but I am glad I like/love my long stiff the best which i plan on making an even longer girder and frame for what kind of motor? who knows!! but the girder I am going to make will at least be a six footer or seven not sure yet
