FXD...was an I

My 05 FXD, I gutted the EFI and ECM this winter also bobbed it. I gutted all the wiring completely and now just have the head light and tail light. I love the clean look now and wonder why they need 9 sensors on bikes these days....lol.

His name is Earl, shvl82 on ironbutt. He's a total shovelhead guru, he takes em apart for fun. He drives truck so maybe you've seen him at various Tim's? lol.

I got mine home today...she has a few bugs. The cheapo tail light shorts, it's in the housing...my EFI to Carb petcock adaptor eleminates my reserve buy bringin down my petcock 1.5 inches....I learned tonight I don't really have a reserve....lol. No biggies though, she's fun as hell!

FXD,

Tell me what you think of the Avon Speedster in the front. Likes, dislikes.

They seem like an old fashion design, not much technoligy built into them but if they work well (handle good in corners and wet weather and track well when running straight) what more can you ask for.

So far so good. They're surprisingly cheep...119 i got it for, retail was 159. Compared to the Cokers which were 229/189. Um, it's tubed but I've never had an issue with tubed tires, I know some dudes hate tubed tires. It tracks good, no wobbles at 50k or 110k with my grip loose on the bars. As soon as I kill the rear tire I'll be puttin the back one on too. Havn't riden in the rain yet but so far I/m happy with it for sure. OH, one kinda funny thing....with this tire my wheel weights had to be removed for it to balance...lol. Go figure.

Hey, thanks all! Much appreciated! I love the carb conversion, no regrets and it was surprisingly easy. The only issue I had was the EFI to Carb tank adaptor leaked and the tail light wouldn't ground to the swing arm, had to run another wire. I'm havin alot of fun gettin used to the no front brakes but no close calls as of yet. I've had 5 speeding tix on this in 4 yrs so I figure it's actually going to be a blessing in disguise, gonna force me to slow down....lol. No front brakes, speedo or tach...ya....SLOWWW and stay with the flow of traffic.....lol.
