Finally Something To Write About......

rather than just post nekkid pics of my wife in the EAYOR section! I have a '97 Suzuki Marauder, 800cc V-twin, nice bike. Well it was 'til a couple of months ago. It started knocking HARD!! so I killed it. Just got around to tearing the engine down Saturday night, and what I feared happened, had happened. The crank and rods are toast. Now for the part of something to write about. I am going to put another engine in it. I have a '76 Kawasaki KZ400 that I got running today. Sweet running little motor, but I also have a line on a low milage '72 CB750 engine and yes it runs. I don't know which I will go with. Either way, I am going to have something to chronicle for ya'll. The little 400 only misses the 800s power by 3 horsepower, but the 750 makes almost twice the power of the 400. That little twin would look cool, but that big 4 would be raucious! Decisions, decisions.....

Re: Finally Something To Write About......

I have rode both bikes before and in my opinion I would use the CB750 4cyl. Wicked little engine.....
Something of interest about the metric v-twins that I have learned since I got my Vulcan. Even if you keep up proper oil and filter changes if you let the engine idle to low it will beat the bearings out of them....You need to run the specified idle or above...

Re: Finally Something To Write About......

I knew about the engine idle issues and the engine was always at specified idle. It has me bumfuzzled as to what happened. I think that for now I'm gonna put the 400 in the frame. I can always go to the 750 later (maybe next winter) because that engine isn't going anywhere, but finances are tight right now.

The Ol' Lady's pics will keep coming, don't worry about that.
