Da 81 Ironhead

I got the Ironhead back on the road. I built the pipes and made a few other changes to make it mine. I scored a beat up old dresser fender to cut apart and get rid of that flip up style fender. I want it to just clear the fender rails and I'll put a sparto taillight on it. I also plan on lowering the ass end and shortening the front end 2-4 inches. I'm 5'5" tall and I need a low bike.LOL. I know it's not a big time custom but I really don't have that much cash in it. Just alot of elbow grease. Tell me what ya think. Oh yeah, after riding a Shovelhead for the last 32 years, this thing feels like a mini bike. I absolutely love it!!! I paint all my rides Rustoleum rattle can flat black, cheap and gas resistant. Later guys.

Re: Da 81 Ironhead

Nice Sportster, though I can't imagine regressing from a Big Twin back down to a Sportster, unless the Sportster was a project or second bike.

Re: Da 81 Ironhead

Jrotten,

Very very nice looking 81 sporty, I like the list of changes too, the poster is very nice too. I'll hedge a bet with that shot pattern you spent some time in the military. I have an 81 stock xl in my shop now, storing it far a friend of mine. it does feel like a mini bike compared to my evo sporty, it is alot like riding a skinny girl in my book, damn it is fun. I'll start a thread for it.no hijack here.

By all means toss up a few pics of your trike, we like them here too.

enjoy all the miles and smile ya can on that fine lookin old school sporty.
