Black Betty

Few of the latest incarnation....the le prs seat really give the stance and with the "biker gel" not bad for anything around 200kms.

I do too, Harley.

I always liked buckhorns, and it looks as if your Z-bars have the grips positioned that way. Back in the '90's, when I was without a bike, I had a friend that would lend me his old Ironhead all the time. It had buckhorns, and I liked them so well, I put buckhorns on my Superglide and ran them for three years.

I like the ham can, and the footboards too.

This XL is looking good!

Re: Black Betty

Jeez, I really liked the Z bars until Big D mentioned they put you hands in the same position as Sporty buckhorns. I had a Sporty with buckhorns and (to me) they were the most uncomfortable bars I have ever had on a bike. I love the look of them but the make you turn your wrists out slightly and that became very unfortable after any amount of time on the bike. Also when I wrecked that bike (hit a Nissan broadside) I could not hang onto them and sprained the wrists really bad, took a year and a half to get them working properly again and I wonder if that uncomfortable position may have been what caused the sprains to be so bad. Wider buckhorns like on an FLH (my bike in the pic) are OK just the narrow type that I find a problem with.

Re: Black Betty update

The z-bars are ammazingly comfortable...I put 6" rise on and my arms are just right height...have done 10 hrs. on this scoot with no discomfort, plus they look cool as hell. The lepera bare bones seat was a ??, I ordered the biker gel in it and was surprised to be able to do 3 hrs. with no discomfort, after that though I have another gel pad I put on top and can do all day then, I also really like the 24" seat height I get between the 11.5" shox and the bare bones. All in all I am really happy with the bike, it is light, I have it set up to do 120mph and run circles around big twins, have done 5000 mile trips on it , all in a package under 500lbs and more comfortable than a hardtail (gotta admit chops are cool though)...will never sell her. Next bike will be a bagger though so I can do the long road with the wife and give her some comfort....The next little addition is a new "figuremachine.com" billet cleaner in black with the name of the scoot engraved on it and painted anodized black, will post pic in spring, going to be mucho cool and even more air flow than the eagle I got on now.....keep the shiny side up!

Re: Black Betty

Thnx Rog...I love this bike...it rides like a dream too....I finally found all her sweet spots, got jetting, pipes everything in sync...the filter was more for looks but it turned out to be the last piece in the puzzle...performance went up 30% and smoothed everything else out.
