Well this spring a group of the trikes from the Brother of the Third Wheel, were heading to a place called Scooters. It is a biker restaurant on Highway 70 in a small place called Jarbo Gap. They had been repairing the road and it was really rough. The road was controlled and we were being led by a pilot car. We had just gotten onto the better part of the road and I thought that I hit a bump where the newly worked road came to the pave area. The trike really bounce and it was a pretty loud noise. I asked the wife who was riding behind me if we were ok. She said yea and then looked down at the left rear fender and it was gone.
The guys behind me said that it went under the wheel and flipped about 20 feet in the air and over the bank on the edge of the road. I couldn't stop but one of my buddies behind was able to get of to the edge of the road and went over the bank and recovered it.
It looked like a big bear had gotten his paws on it. Glad I was able to recover it did not want to have to build another one.
I ended up just straightening it as it was twisted and compressed and bondoing the deep gouges and priming it until later this winter when I plan to repaint the whole trike.
This is what it used to look like for those who have never seen it.
