what's it worth

Not sure of where to post this . I just recieved a royal enfield motor and trans in an older sporty frame and I have no idea what it's worth. It's titled as a 1999 and came from a salvaged bike. It's a single cylinder and looks like it's in good shape. The person I got it from said it was a running bike that he and a buddy were turning into a chopper. I just have too many projects right now and need to turn a few of them over so I can consitrate on the 2 I really want to get done. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Re: what's it worth

It's realy hard to say what it's worth. The motor is a 99 500 bullet? Made in India. Basicly the same as the english version of the 50's with a few upgrades i think. It has nostalga appeal. Enfields are realy the oldest motorcycle in existance that still make bikes. 1897 or something like that. But don't quote me. It would be a novelty build for sure and interesting in the end. I think that one is a 5 spd trans as well. Not a power house for sure but cool looking motor. Personaly i don't think the sporty frame was a good choice. Looks abit odd with that motor. I would throw that motor in the attic for another day, if your jammed up with other projects and when you feel like building a little coffee shop bike someday.
What's it worth? Who knows. Check epay. Maybe there is a demand for them.

I don't know the value, but if it were mine it would become two projects. The first would be to use that frame to build a cool little Sportster and then I would figure out something to do with the engine. maybe an old time trail bike, not that we have many trails in Joisey

Some good ideas for sure. If I can't move it , then it will definetly be out of that frame. Might be a good idea to stash it away for a rainy ( or snowy ) day.
