It;s a 1965 Truimph 500 that a buddy gave last spring. It needs a lot of work but looks like a fun little bike. Trying to see what stock parts I can get for it before I decide what to do with it. Engine work first but am waiting on Santa to bring me some Whitworth tools.

My buddy went through a bad break up with his present girl freind and had to get rid of the boat real quick so he gave it to me. When he got divorced 20 years ago I got his thatching rake, so I think I did better this time although if he keeps giving me stuff I hope he never has a stable relationship - only kidding but I am making up a list for him.

The boat came complete with trailer, a spare 302 ford motor, depth finder, GPS and loran, VFH radio and an am/fm, tape and cd radio that he just installed. He lost the door to the cuddy cabin so if anybody has one they don't need.

The only thing that scares me is both of these were freebies and you know what they say " the most expensive bike (or boat) you'll ever own is the one you got for free".

Re: So...............Whats new?

OK OK OK....You old guys are way to impatient!!

Dickin around in the garage a couple weeks ago and decided to have a go at another set of pipes (I love makin pipes), here's what I came up with.

wrapped em up....kinda dig the look of em.

Then I got bored with the apes and threw on a set of drag bars to see how it would look....again not to bad.

Since those pics I have put the stock cables back on and have also ordered a set of Biltwell 8" Chump Bars that will go on as soon as they come in...so that leaves me time to make some stainless risers.

I also machined some trick custom front end parts for a guy doing a drop seat custom...cant post those pics because he would like them to remain private until the time is right, but i'll toss up one of the bike as it set before the mods.

After the machine work on the front end turned out tits I didn't even charge the guy for it. Came home last week and found a gift waiting for me with a note saying my work was appreciated....here's the gift.

No more rolling around on a cold IN garage floor...SWEET!

Hope this was the kind of thing you were hoping to see Kev!

Re: So...............Whats new?

Got a '78 CB400 auto that i picked up cheap in really nice shape except for a bad head gasket. Gonna fix that and resell it for money to work on the XT600/sidecar project. Both of these are sitting about half apart cuz of the little fire we had and house improvements going on.

Picked up an old boat trailer for free that i'm rebuilding into a low utility trailer for hauling whatever projects I may pick up in the future and for other stuff. I'm just getting old enough that it's getting tough to get the bikes in the back of the pickup anymore.

Still need to pull the springs off it and remount the frame, then decking and sides and winch and new lights and wiring.

Re: So...............Whats new?

Damn! Mutt, Hooty, Bone... all fun stuff.

Can't fool with the bike yet... 'till after Christmas, at least. Been sneezing sawdust. (Hooty- wood is easier to work with!)

Built two Adirondack gliders for a guy. This is the last one... Made out of western red cedar and stained with UV wood protectant, these will take weather.

Yup... the Superglide is sitting out in the cold... I don't want sawdust all over it and I need the room to work...

I'm building these calendar holders for some family members for Christmas... this one is hard maple, inlayed with black palm. Building two more (a red oak one, and a poplar one that will be painted, all to match the respective kitchen cabinets)

Re: So...............Whats new?

Hey Big D,

Love those glider chairs. Do you work off a commercially available set of plans, if so would you mind telling me where you got the plans from.

Re: So...............Whats new?

Great stuff D, I wish I had the skill you possess!! Metal is easier for me...I dick it up and I can just fill it in with weld and repair it...with wood you only get 1 shot at it. The chairs and calendar holders look awesome, what fine craftsmanship!!
