went out to start my truck 10/ 20 seconds after starting 2/3 of the ice on the roof came crashing down one piece 4ft long 3ft wide 1ft thick landed right were we walk 10 min later the other piece fell now the ice over the porch the one with hand thats all ice

Falling ice can cause big problems, my buddy had his truck totaled when falling ice from a roof crushed it. Good thing he wasn't in it.

The alternative is to go up on the roof and clear the snow off of it before it turns to ice and not only is that a lot of work it can be very dangerous. On another site someone was just telling how he broke his leg when he fell off of his fathers roof while trying to clear the snow.

Good thing you weren't standing under it.

Thankfully no one or nothing was under it when it came crashing down. You guys got it bad up there.
