BHO member Fish and I wanted to get out on a ride for Mr. Jimi, and yesterday was the best for us. As we schemed about this at work, some other guys wanted to come, too. What was going to be a loooong lunch hour turned into a "three tank" ride!
Had to fuel up in Indianapolis, before we shook off the traffic. Here we toasted Mr. Jimi with a Heinekin, several diet Pepsi's, and a shit-load of wings. Fish, left; Virgil, center, and Dave right.
If you wold have told me that the weather for Indiana was gonna be sunny and 76 degrees in the middle of August... Ha! What a fine day! We motored to Parke County seat Rockville. Here's the four of us...
Fish, with his Heritage, all shined up...
Virgil, on his Shadow. This is a sweet bike, and has done the Dragon twice. It sounded like a Swiss watch next to all the Milwaukee snort and bellow...
Me and my ol' Superglide. Runnin' with baggers is fun- if you don't make fun of 'em, they'll carry you're stuff!
Co-worker Dave and his unique ride- a '96 'Glide Police. He got this recently, has low miles, meticulous maintenence. He just installed true duals. This was owned by the Marion C. (Indy) sherrif's dep't. For fun, Dave bought a siren for it. What a hoot!
Parke Co. Indiana is the covered bridge mecca, with 31 bridges throughout. Spectacular day, nice twistys throughout, great scenery, great companions... what a day! Here's a few shots of some bridges...Old farts loitering around the courthouse...
Interesting sandstone formation at Sugar Creek near Turkey Run S.P.
What a day! I've been over that way before but never on a ride that gave us time to explore. And get lost! Ha!
Anyone within striking distance should check this area out. I make fun of Indiana constantly, but this is pretty special.
