| | | How we refer to our MC
In the last 5 yrs, I've owned 3 other Hondas. My wife and I, usually referred to them...as our Motorcycles, and or Bikes. She'd say''Sweetie, lets ride the Motorcycle to dinner/supper, not the Truck''. Or: ''She would say, ''I cannot wait till we ride the Bike to the HotSprings Arkansas Rally.''
(I realize these examples are sorta silly)
We've got a Son'N'Law, a harley owner, who always refers to his Motorcycle as ''tha' Harley''. ''Our Daughter will tell her Mother...''yeah we rode tha' Harely to dinner/supper last night, have yawl been riding yaw'ls motorcycle, lately'' (talking to each other on their CellPhones) heheh
But I wanna tell ya' We got us a Big, Bad Valkyrie, and for the last coupla years...''My Honey, will always say:...''Hey Babe, lets ride tha' Valkyrie, or the Valk, or she ''might refer to it as;, tha Mighty Valk', to get a Hamburger, when I get home from work''...(God love 'er.)...(redneck Chuckle)
Finally, I got some respect, when We're out there riding with our Harley Friends, and any of those other goodlooking Metrics...heheheh
Now; common folks, will walk up to my Valk, and 'brag'' on it. I never had that with the other Hondas. (sorry about that, atleast.. not when I was riding with them Harley fellas..They always got all the dern attention.)...redneck grin'agin)......StaggerLee}

No attachments here, they are all just hunks of metal to me, no names, no nicknames....just "bikes". I refer to all bikes as "bikes" I love and hate them all!

I have yet heard a Harley guy refer to theirs, as 'the'',or ''a'' or ''our'' BIKE, or any nickname.
It's 'tha Harely'' They always say: the 'Harley'.
My other Hondas were simply motorcycles, but not the Valk, funny how that works.....(hmmm) It's pride, the status quo thang.....now <I have> status quo. It's fun...enjoyable. hehehe
Dont get me wrong, I love all those Harley friends of mine/ours, and you know I love my Harley Kin folks.
I 'do' like messing with 'em, though. (now that's some fun)...hehehehe --Staggerlee--

I call my bike "my bike". It's a 1989 FLHS. I don't have pet names for it like I have for a certain part of my anatomy like "Thor" or the Mighty One. I will have to pay more attention to what other people call their HD's.

The V-Star 1100 is either the "V", the Yam, or Bonehead.....it gots that bonehead name cuz it's sporting 40 skulls when in the solo attitude.
The Kaw is "officially" No Luck Lucy, but usually refered to as "the chop" or the Kaw by me......wife calls it "the little bike".......made the mistake of letting her see it when parked next to the V and it does look small compared to that.
