Groovy day

enfield called me up early and woke me up but that was because he was nice enough to lend his truck and his big manly muscles to help me drag a new big ass compressor home. Then our very own lovely and talented resident electrician (r0yal) popped in and did some work for me. Then I spent some time cleaning up the shop or should I say re-organizing all the junk ! Good day for sure but it played this old man out! What you do today?

Re: Groovy day

Every year a buddy of mine take our wifes and go out to dinner at a German place on Staten Island. They have the worlds oldest Oopmha band but there are really nice guys. The food is good and they have a big beer selection.

Sunday I am going for a glider (plane with no engine) ride. The place is up in North Jersey where the leaf color is just about peak so it should be a fun day. Oh yeah and then we go out to eat again.

Then monday I go back to trying to complete outside projects before the snow flies or it gets to cold to work out there.

Re: Groovy day

Not so groovy here... I'll just live vicariously from your good days...

I'm on day #6 of the Swine H1N1 'flu blues. This stuff is A W F U L.

The guy I carpool with had all three of his kids come down with it... then it got him. He has a "at risk" child with breathing problems, so he was tested for H1M1, and it was positive. So, I have it, along with now 5 guys at work.

The 'net research I did on this stuff says the H1M1 strain is mild... well, I beg to differ. These 56 year old bones ache! Nothing mild about it!

Lightbulb Re: Groovy day

went with my fiance for dim-sum, visited my old man, set up one of my employees who wanted to work today and then me and the old lady jumped on our bikes and went to a local lake for what will likely be the last ride of the year as the cold weather is comin in next week, was a crisp ride to be sure but felt real good....a good day

Re: Groovy day

Big D,

Sorry to hear you got Swine Flu, get well fast. Might be an advantage to getting it early and getting it over with. Swine flu isn't too bad in New Jersey yet, much worse in the southern states and much worse for kids for some reason but I'm sure it will make it's way to my house sooner or later.

Re: Groovy day

So here's my flight. I think in one of the pictures you can see my stomach flying out to the left. Still hasn't quite returned.

The yellow plane is the tow plane, a converted crop duster. The pilot has over 40,000 tows according to the plaque on his chair. When I pulled the release he went into a steep banked turn to the left and we went to the right.

The guy in the picture was my pilot sitting behind me. Normally he would sit in the front so he doesn't have to look around me but I wouldn't fit in the back.

The yellow glider is the one my son was in and that's a picture of it landing. The landing is alot of fun, a sharp bank, 180 degree turn to port just before dropping down and landing on the skid.

The glider looks big with me standing next to it but it was a squeeze to get into it.

Re: Groovy day

Gliding... very cool, nice pics too.
My life is so boring right now, I wouldn't even tell anyone about it.
Back injury playing up for 3 weeks now, lots of pain.
Stuck at home doing...... well not much really.
