Re: cool parts place

I have seen pictures of that building before but your the first one to say the new building is across the street, wish you had posted a picture of that place too.

Alway great when you find a place you like and trust.

Re: cool parts place

Met the man many years ago at the swap meet in Peotone, Illinois. He always seemed to have just what you needed or he could find it for you. Last saw him there a few years back with just a bunch of used parts. He said the internet pretty much put his travelling parts store out of business. Shame, always liked the guy.

Re: cool parts place

A while back I thought the internet was killing the swap meets but the swap meets seem to be making a comeback, atleast the AMCA meets are. What I think is realling killing the swap meets are the organizers that treat the swap guys like shit and the cost of getting to and from.

The Rhinebeck swap meet this year was fantastic but it didn't seem to be well attended. There were plenty of vendors there with good stuff.

Also I think now that alot of guys bought up parts when motorcycles were the in thing are now having to dump the parts. When I wrecked my Sporty about 10 years ago and was looking for a front end there were none to be found. Now I go to swap meets and find them for $100 to $300 in good to perfect condition.

Re: cool parts place

We've got a really good parts place here called Nebraska Motorcycle Parts. They have nearly anything you might be looking for, no matter what kind of bike you got. The best part for me....they only bout 5 mins away.

Ya, Hippy is a cool guy, Bought parts from him, both new and used at Sturgis and mail order over the years. Always knows what you need and seems to have it or can get it. Didn't know he was still in business. Tom
