Always wanted to do this...
Some of you new folks here... meet Virg, BF.net member, my co-worker, friend, riding buddy, and one of the Wild Hogs here at work.
Virgil has a tasty Shadow bagger... no moss grows under this- it's been to the Dragon in NC several times. Virg commutes, and is a high-miler. But he's got this thing for his new ride, a Honda Silver Wing. Scooter, that is.
Well, ol' Virg is hard to talk to, nowadays... he's all about "variable pitch cone and belt" instead of gearboxes, and "Tupperware", instead of tins.
Virg doesn't get much noise from the wild hogs, tho... I got into a hole shot or two at a stoplight, and also a high speed run-on once. This little Wing will walk away from a stage I twinkie Superglide at WOT. I'm here to testify.
Virg smoked a couple of big bellied Harley baggers this summer on his Wing. He stopped, they cried foul, so he smoked 'em again. He's still talkin' about it...
~~
Anyway.... Virg did something I always wanted to do.
This is a high clearance crop sprayer. You see these all the time in Indiana in the early spring and late fall. They have hydrastatic drive motors at all wheels, and at full open, maybe go 30 mph.
I've been stuck behind there several times... along with various other farm machinery. Goes with corn country.
Well, Virg got behind one of these things last week, out on SR 52 heading for Brookville.
Yup. He did it... couldn't get around him... ran under him instead!
Whoo hoo!
~~
OK, Virg... defend yourself...

Dunno... but I wouldn't run him, Harley. First time we rode together last year, we had to meet up with Jim and his chopper. When we hooked up, I told Redneck Jim, "Go take a look at the front of Virg's scooter. Get a good look: That's the last fuckin' time you'll see anything but the tail light the rest of the day!"
Virg has one rule when we ride. He starts up first (so he knows it's running) before all the Milwaukee snort and beller starts....

Re: Always wanted to do this...
Yup! did it. I just made sure the guy wasn't going to turn into a field before I ducked under and gave it the gas.
At one time I had a Honda Helix and although I rode it on the 2 lanes most of the time I was headed to Lexington, KY and jumped on I-65 for a few miles because I was running behind. After a few miles a HD rider was following me and when I stopped to get gas he pulled up beside me at the station.
Stand up he said, so I did. Then he remarked, they don't even show. What doesn't show, I asked? He said, you've got to have balls as big as coconuts to ride that thing on the interstate!

Holy shit he does speak........
yeah the interstates down here are a little crazy, and need constant repair.
I agree ya gotta have stones to ride a scooter, I can respect a small agile machine....and her rider...
And i wouldn't mind tring a fly under a crop duster....

Re: Always wanted to do this...
Had a nieghbor that was in a bad MC wreck years back and couldn't get on a regular bike anymore so he bought one of those big scooters and does very well with it. He took it on a ride down to Deleware - all highway, he has no trouble keeping up with anyone and he loves it.
