obligatory introduction....

Greetings from the great white north! I am professir. Rode for 30 years, then had to hang it up due to nerve damage on the right leg. Leg would go numb after about a mile, and since that is the rear break (having a rear break is indeed a good thing) I sold the shovel FLT before I had to part it out.

Fast forward to 2007, where I have open heart surgery. They crush 3 vertebra in my neck pulling out my heart to walk around the operating room for 45 mins, then reinstall. (talk about a complete rebuild!) I have 3 "corrective' surgeries, and no leg numb. WOOOO!

SO I am back, and looking to get back in the saddle again. That is me, an old buttugly biker without a scooter for the time being. Gotta work on the medical bills for a spell yet, then will be getting some iron. Given the option, shovel iron. Ask what ya will, and link to me if you wish.

Welcome glad ya were able to make it here.. I had the same issue for a few years, so I built a trike. Kept on riding, then they fixed me and now I have 3 bikes and a trike.

Hope ya get in the wind soon.

Re: obligatory introduction....

Thanks for the welcome boys, but no tears for Brett! Now MN can nurse there sorry feelings over the winter at what might have been, and watch the boy from Miss play the press like a violin. We dont miss it at all.

As to the bike, I have to wait till fall. Its coming from Ca by the long route! So, a trip to the local HD palace tomorrow is in order. Taking a friend that just picked up a very sweet Sporty custom to get his first HD shirt. Damn if he doesn't want a colored one!!! Much work to be done there.

Short version of the basket story. I used to be a Commanding Officer in the Salvation Army (pastor) and met this guy who was at the bottom of the pit at the time. We spent a few years together and brought him into our family. Amazing what good tacos on Friday night, weekends of fishing and 4 kids worth of noise and confusion can do to a weary soul. He returned to his family back in the early 90's and we all kind of lost track of each other. Then face book appears, and he finds us. Says he wants to gift me with this basked since I am scooter-less at the moment. As I mentioned, I had to sell my shovel FLT back in 2001 due to the nerve damage, and after my open heart surgery, they had to fuse 3 vertebra in my neck, and, of all things, I can ride again. What we DONT know is, if I am physically there enough to actually put a basket back together again! I might end up sitting on the boxes making motorboat noises heheheh.

Oh, the brother in CA? Still dry and clean. Celebrates 22 years this spring.

For those that braved this volume so far, kudos! Just a side note, of the 4 kids, 2 of them have bikes (100th ann heritage, and a black super glide) and 2 are married to guys that ride, with apology for the crotch rockets! (always the black sheep ya know hehehe)
