New from Las Vegas

Started off on ***, recently I've been spending more time at BHO, clicked on a link and here I am. You guys don't have any oil threads here or "Are my pipes too loud?" threads over here do ya? Here is my Ironhead.

Not a chopper, It's too complete to change, but if I come across the right engine..........

Welcome FELXH. No Kicker - That probably has saved you years of agony from the dreaded Sportster Knee. HD probably saw the light and elliminated the kickers for fear of liability litigation form all the customers with broken knees.

Re: New from Las Vegas

I was gonna say, that reminds me alot of my old Ironhead Sporty, it too was a '77. The only bike I've ever bought brand spankin' new. I'd take the ribbing from all my buddies on their big twins, and then beat them in any race. They just couldn't keep up.

nice lookin' ride,
and welcome

In '77, they hadn't eliminated the kicker, you could get that model XLCH (no kick, electric only) or XLH (only kicker)

I used to ride a buddy's kick only sporty way back when and suffered the dreaded kickstart knee slap many times on it. That's why I too went for the 'CH when I bought my new sporty in '77

Re: New from Las Vegas

Thanks for all the welcome and compliments on my Bitch. As I recall, for my year, XLH was electric only and XLCH had a kicker and could have electric start too. But only CH's had kickers. I just wish mine had a kick start as well cuz it would be worth more and I like having a backup plan. (Pushin' these bitches ain't no fun)
