Well Yahoo
day 3 of tear down i got a little luck , the cases have been split halllauuya.
dont want to go through that again, any time soon, and thats for sure.
it would have been easier im sure if i had a machine shop handy in my bag of tricks but we did it old school style and it had me going nuts with a tap tap here and a pry there , all the time knowing alumanun is very soft ,
i guess it was a top grade of sealant used on last time it had cases apart. but now its all down hill i hope . now i can jump in the shower get something to eat then clean up the mess i made in my spare bedroom and start cleaning all parts and check specs.
but when its all said and done i think ill be finding a used rod and changing bearings and hope for the best. o well we'll see how my $$$ flow goes been putting all in this house remodle now lets see what i have left around hear to sell.............the dog?

Its in the crank, behind that screw head. Can be a bitch to get out but a must. I bet its plugged solid. Nice helper you have there.

Re: Well Yahoo
If you are lucky..... you can get the sludge trap out with the help of an old spoke. Use the hooked end to pull out the trap.....if it will move. It maybe loaded up with crud.... sometimes they get destroyed taking them apart. But it is essential for you to clean/replace it!!!!!
Good luck,,,, I know I destroyed one in my BSA getting it out!
I think that the flywheel bolt next to the crank journals will need to come out too....On the BSA it screws into the sludge trap. I think the Triumph is the same!
You need a Haynes Book......for your Triumph
