Re: Superglide updates- 2012 edition

Final piece of the puzzle came today UPS- my "new" front rubber motor mount. Came off a salvage 2003 FXD with 12K on it.

Got it installed.

Boys and girls- I do NOT want to do that again without a proper lift and engine support. But got 'er done. That's a three-armed job.

Lastly, I looked at the top stabilizer rod. The Heim joint had no endplay, nice and tight. Now I just gotta borrow Fishbone's angle thingy to check my engine alignment per the book, then I'm pretty good. Ought to have it on the ground in a day or two.

Re: Superglide updates- 2012 edition

Have yet to put the wheels on. Fishbone lent me his inclinometer so I can align the engine with the frame properly. But I'm a couch potato tonight. Got a wicked sore throat.

Blanket, remote, popsickles.

It will be a cold wind, Roger. Not all of us dwell in the land of milk and honey. I'll have the wheels on the ground Sunday, I suppose. But this is Indiana. And therein lies the rub...

Indiana lives and breathes high school basketball. Tonight, and this weekend start sectional tourneys around the state. Now- this is an actual fact- in the next few weekends, there will be snow of epic proportions. Basketball playoffs and snow. Always.

Snow, what is that. does it come in different colors or what. It was in the 70's here today, but windy. they had winds in the valley up to 45 mph. Not to bad here, maybe 20 or so.

Re: Superglide updates- 2012 edition

Was 67 here yesterday, this is my kind of winter - if you have to have a winter. Of course my brand new snow blower is just sitting there taking up room in the garage. We had two great days in a row and I had stuff to do that kept me from enjoying them, today I have nothing to do and it's raining. But I do appreciate it if you guys keep that white stuff out there as I don't want to get the new snow blower wet or dirty.

I'm getting REAL tired of spending money on this thing.

Assemble assemble assemble. That's it.

Hahahaha! OK guys... So here's how it went today...

I got a Charleyhorse in my left leg getting the front wheel on. Thought I was gonna die. Then as I was watching the pre-race coverage on the TV in the man-cave, I carefully poured 75W90 synthetic gear lube in.

In the engine hole, not the tranny hole.

So when I get it off the lift (not there yet) I'll have to drain this out and put it in the correct hole. I then cross-threaded and buggered up a stainless flange nut on the front exhaust stud. It was time to wave the white flag in defeat. By that time, I had a houseful of kiddies and grandkid.

It'll keep. Ain't going anywhere.
