Been following Hooty and really enjoying it. You are a very talented guy and it's obvious your enjoying the heck out of this. This should inspire me to get out into the garage, but it probably won't. Do have to fix my charging problem though.

What's the problem? Voltage Reg or Stator? Either one is a pretty simple fix. I am enjoying every single minute of this build, haven't had this much fun for a while!

Little more progress this evening.

Cut the top plate off the top of the frame.

Put a piece of 1" diameter round stock in the tubes to align the top frame.

Bolted up and clamped...ready for weld.

Welded up and ready for grinding

Welds ground off and smoothed out a little.

The bottom mount is welded in about 4 different places...still gonna box all this in to make it look cleaner, just ran outta time this evening.

I can't test the regulator but I test the stator and it checks ok, so the manual says replace the reg. That doesn't seem to be fixing it so back to the garage today and try to figure out why.
