Re: Projects.. Really Slow Progress

Well i decided to start working on getting my seat on the scoot. I did not like the look when the seat was setting on and you could see all the wires, battery and oil tank. So I made a cover for it today. I am using a take off police solo seat a friend gave me. After I made the plate I build a front mount bracket to mount the seat like the pogo seat but with 3 inch springs in the back.

Here is how it turned out.

Nasty looking wiring and stuff.

Pan all bent and getting ready to fit.

Fitted on frame. I think its gonna work.

Made some bungs, now just have to attach them and start the paint and making it look good.

That's gonna look good. I was kinda questioning your choice when you mentioned the big seat earlier, but it's gonna look good.

Jeez Roger, don't think you had to worry about covering up the wires cause with a seat that big no one can see them anyhow.

I'd like to see pic of the bottom of the seat with the front bracket attached if you happen to have the camera handy. Did you run that bracket all the way back to the springs?

Mutt I will take some pic today when I go out to the shop, no I did not run it all the back. You could though pretty easy.

Re: Projects.. Really Slow Progress

Thank you Roger, you did a great job on the bracket.

My only concern would be that the seat could swivel while your riding by not running it back further and having a 3 point mount. Let me know how you make out with it or if you have figured out a way to not make it swivel.

Re: Projects.. Really Slow Progress

I been thinking about that, I may add a extension to the back of the seat. The springs are attached to the rear of the seat pan cover, and seem to hold it in placed. But as you say it might be better with a sort of 3 point mount.

Re: Projects.. Really Slow Progress

Well I been working like crazy on the scoot. I decided that I wanted a rack over the back fender and a back rest so that I can carry stuff. Also my buddy had a set of Harley leather saddle baqs., I don't know what they came off of, but they bolted on not throw over. So I made a set of brackets to hold them.

Here is what I ended up with.
