Projects.. Really Slow Progress

Well it has been a while since I have posted here, check in every once in a while and see whats cooking. Been kinda down for a while. Been having problems with my leg nerves. My one project that I started in 2009 on the 79 FXS, got stalled.

I ended up getting another 79 FXEF, and stared cleaning it up last year. I have been working on it as able. But lately I have been feeling pretty good, so been at it again. Here is the bike I traded my Dune Buggy for.

I started tearing it down to do some updates and had to put new tubes in the forks because of the wear.

Then I ended up getting a new front wheel, because the one that came on it was bent in a couple of spots. The further i went the more I needed to do. Put new brake pads in the front. Complete disc unit in the rear.
Ended up rewiring it and putting turn signals on it.

Now I am n the process of painting the tins.

Re: Projects.. Really Slow Progress

Got most of the tins done in the black and molly orange, tomorrow I will start putting on the additional colors. I am going to do a white stripe and some airbrush flames on the fenders and tanks

Been doing some airbrush stuff, here is a picture of the Ironhead that I gave my son last year.

Well that should be enough to catch up a little and get me back in everyones good graces.

Will try and post more often and see if we can get the ball rolling again here also. My health has improved as well as my attitude.

Re: Projects.. Really Slow Progress

Kev we are both doing well, thanks for asking. Yea I will keep posting progress on this one. My other FXS kind of stalled with registration issues. I picked up another one last week, frame that is.

Should not be any problems with this one, the state wanted to make the other one a special construction, and I didn't want it that way.

Bonehead, I live in Ca and primarily just do stuff for some of the locals I don't have a good painting area to do stuff professionally plus i'm just an amateur.

Re: Projects.. Really Slow Progress

Well I spent the morning inside the house on the kitchen table taping all the tins off. Then one at a time shot the white border color outside in the shop. It was a little cool but used fast reducer and it flowed pretty good. After I shot each one, I returned them to the dining room and let them dry a little more before removing the tape.

Here is the finished results of the colors.

Next is to airbrush some flames in the black area of the oval and apply some decals. The it will be clear time and back to assembly.
