Re: the pinto bean dent puller

I have heard of this and variations of it but never heard of any success stories. Seems most just blow the tank up like a soccer ball or split it at a seam. Interesting, post the results.

Re: the pinto bean dent puller

that is one idea i would say did not impress me at all. im going to add more water to tank because the beans absorbed the water i added to it last night. and i started to do some hammer on tech, to dent that was still there but the beans did act as a backer for hammer on tech and i did manage to pull dent 30 % out and will see what she looks like tommarow but i will not try this or will i advise it but .........i had to try it ...............

never know and ur right kev i have to keep working the lines of the tank to keep it shape ill be stripping it down now to remove any body filler or what paint is on it tonight . but it was a little safer then freezing water maybe but if i had a choice and equip i would use the spot weld rivet type of pulling rods . just dont have one and my mig took a dump on me so its caveman skills

Re: the pinto bean dent puller

this will not work,,sorry but it won't. why not just take it to the local body shop, fill it with water and have them weld some pins on it and pull the dent? probly wouldn't cost $10 to 20 bucks...the dent being concave in a convex corner will be a lot stronger than any where ealse on the tank.

Re: the pinto bean dent puller

Just thinking out loud here cause I ain't no body man but have you tried something using suction cups. Some of the newer ones really stick on and you may be able to pull some of the dent out with one. Maybe one of those "as seen on tv" dent pullers, I saw them pretty cheap in a drug store a few months back that had a whole section dedicated to "as seen on tv" stuff.

If the bean thing doesn't work at least you have dinner.

Re: the pinto bean dent puller

do you know the brand name of those suction cups? I have a chrome tank that I would love to get a dent out of......without ruining the chrome!
