paint work
My son is really coming along with his pinstriping. He is learnig from my pinstriper who does all my signs and pinstriping. This is a tank someone sent us to do a basic black and simple pinstripe on. I think it turned out great. I'm really proud of the way he is learning and sticking to it. What do you guys think ?

Re: paint work
Mike- I like it! And we can do some business when the snow flies...
That your boy in the second pic? He's got to be serious about it, if he's got a VonDutch eyeball on his stripin' hand!
I got flames all over the front tins, but didn't have anything done to the rear fender. Between the back of the seat and the plate bracket, there's a pretty empty spot I always thought needed something.
A tasty, simple orange-red stripe would go good there, I think...

Re: paint work
Yeah, that's him in the pics. I think he is finally figuring out what he wants to do and is really getting into it. I've known he's had a talent for quite awhile, just getting him to settle down and go for it. LOL He's getting ready to do some striping on my project bike also. When efver you get ready D, he'll be more than happy to do some stiping on your hot rod.

Re: paint work
Very sharp indeed, serious talent there. Now I know who will do the stripping on my next project bike for sure!

Re: paint work
Very talented.... And I'd bet he only would get better and better!!!!!
I imagine you could make decent money with such little outlay of money! It's all talent!!!!! Would be a great means of meeting many people and putting that little extra that really sets off a bike or car or etc!!!!!!
I tried to talk my daughter into trying it..... she is artistic and could pin stripe with a little training and practice. Plus she doesn't have a beard BUT has some admirable attributes.....
Good talent goes a long ways!!!!

Re: paint work
Very nice, pin striping is a real art, getting both sides to look the same and it looks like your son has the nack. The real test is when he does his first fire engine, with stripes and gold leaf.
I have been trying to get my oldest son to try striping, it's a nice way to earn some under the table money. He finally tried it the other day, it didn't come out the way he wanted it to so he went out and bought a book on how to stripe. He wasn't using the correct paint though. I'm glad he's finally trying anyway.

Re: paint work
Hell yeah man. It's a dieing art with all the decals and shit nowdays. Tell him to keep at it. Sometimes it gets dicouraging, but keep reading and practicing. Took my son a little while to get the hang of it, but working with my sign guy has really paid off. I was just lucky enough to have a guy local that was willing to work with him. Good luck to him.
