Hey folks, been fighting my front end for a long while now.
I got some internal stop cups, but they wouldn't work with my hidden bolt trees.
So I did what anyone in that predicament would do.. I elmers-glued them with duct tape... just kidding.
The unit was designed to bolt to the lower tree. That wouldn't work as the nut which ties them all together on the steering shaft--goes on on top of the lower tree, its hogged out so it recesses in. So... if I slipped the lower tree on, i couldnt get to the nut. So We came up with a plan.
We drilled the nut to accept a grub-lock screw to lock it in place with preload where it needed to be. this locked it to the shaft.. then we locked the lower neck stop unit to the tree by polishing up some SS bolts, and flattening the round stop so the bolt heads flat parts held each side in place. then the very bottom recessed bolt went on and its finally done.
