My shovelhead

Guys I have added 3 pics to the gallery of my 1970 FLH. I know that it is not a chopper and it also is not stock. It has wide glide lowers with dual disc.73 up rear swingarm.I just upgraded to a GMA caliper and a rotor. 11 1/2 progressive shocks,79 up 4 speed that I pickup really cheap. It was a fresh rebuild that hadn't been pickup.I've got a 99 CV carb ready to install.2 into 1 black OEM exhaust header.Brass air filter housing, brass point cover. The top end is .010 over. but all new james gaskets and seals. New cal-products inner primary,ram-jett retainer, long roller bearings,M6 tenzioner,New HD OEM outer primary cover that I bought at a garage sale for 10 bucks a year before getting the bike. NOS derby cover with brass HD highlites. New Avon blackwall tires.Had wide whites. New O-ring chain. Have switch over to 73 up handle bar controls. The rear fender had a dent in the taillite area and the tomb stone tailite covered it perfectly. I just finished up a set of the old style marker lites painted semi-gloss black that I'm goint to mount under the rear corners of the seat for additional lighting. Red lens with blue bulbs.I'm stuck at this point I need a rear rocker box. Mine has a chip in it on the inside. So I might repair, replace the one or buy a new set. Thinking on it. Anybody ever used CCI chrome rocker boxes. I can get a set for 250.00. Sorry so long. Ken I know I've forgotten tons more stuff.

Just happy to be there assisting the WIZARD of HOG!!!! You guys have got to see Kenny's playroom. Has ALL the toys and unlike me he's a MASTER TECH so he actually can use them. LMAO. Ken's shovel ; though NOT a STOCK build has enough to maintain the look while offering him modern comforts. After all isn't that the REAL goal. To get those older bikes RIDDEN, seen and appreciated as they SHOULD rightfully be. I want to see some young punk say in COURT I DIDNT SEE HIM!!" That headlight is like a locomotive coming at ya!! Pretty trick Huh , its in the CUSTOM CHROME catalogue. So Ken, why not bring out ALL the toys and put them in the gallery. You wouldnt want the other bikes to get jealous and stop running. LOL

Was thinking about all that has gone it to this bike so far. Its amazing. I got the bike off a deal form Swap forums. And I now understand the ture meaning of CAVEAT EMPTOR. Don't take anything said about a basket csae as ture from someone you don't know.don't take this as whinng but as a lesson well learned. But isn't that were all the fun is? the digging, looking, dealing, restoring, fabbing parts, detailing. Sure is. And when this ones done. I'll do it again.

Well we are getting closer. Dave helped with getting the top end back together. Now I'm finishing up wiring. And finally found a throttle cable that will work with the CV carb I'm using. Only took 3 cables.Filled the oil tank.Just need to add some to the crankcase and prime the oil filter.I'm going to make a small gas bag or tank to hang over the bike rather than installing the tanks. Hopfully no distraction this week.KA
