| | | My chopper project.
So here is a couple of shots of my early effort on my project, using a VS1400 donor bike and starting with not a lot of skill or vision. lol
Currently I am rebuilding it and doing some more custom fabrication and detailing work. More photo's when I get my camera back and make some decent progress.
this is the before and after shots.

Hey, I just noticed your in New Zealand. Does that mean your getting ready for winter? Is the weather reasonable for riding in the winter? |

lol, and I held back the comment on the pussy this morning, lol. It really is a nice bike. Have a Tui for me man, I liked them, even if they were a cheaper brew. Find that camera, lol ..

Cheers for the support guys, this is my first chopper so I have a lot to learn. I have decided on a new paint job and got that underway, I have a lot of work to do on re-chroming and getting the details right too. Winter is fast approaching this side of the world so if I can get my shoulder sorted out I should be able to get it all finished this year.
Have had a couple of surgeries to fix a buggered shoulder, not yet healed and taking its sweet bloody time too.
My plan (if you can call it that) is to work on the electrics and detail work through the winter, including building a new loom, and wiring in my new Veypor (Awesome bit of kit) Digital electronic speedo/tacho and multi unit, sourced thru Canada.
Then try to do myself a custom seat, I am so impressed with Xian's work, but no-one in this neck of the world does that kind of expert artist work. So I hope to learn enough to have a crack at it myself. Could be a big ask! lol.
Contemplating doing wicked things to the Motor, but it is pretty grunty already so I might leave that for a while.
My other issue is the front brakes, not very happy with the amount of stopping power there so will investigate new ideas.
I am still practising my airbrushing skills so will have a better go at that soon, might have to get a better kit.
I have rebuilt the shocks and replaced the rear suspension with progressives and modified the sissy bar and mounting, but not entirely happy with that yet, might have another go.
Have made a 'king tank' from cutting the original and welding more into it, turned out pretty good, 4 inches wider and 2 inches longer.
Hoping to complete some arty-farty bits for the sides later this year, have some ideas for shielding the battery box and improving the visual flow of the bike.
Would also like to 'stealth mount' some custom lights, but not sure yet on how to fabricate the housings for them within the space I have in mind.
So that is about it for now, I am off to have a Tui!
I don't know how you knew about it, but it is a pretty popular beer down here.
Winter is still good for riding most of the time as long as you don't mind the rain, not a lot of ice or snow in my part of the country fortunately.
Take care and ride safe guys.
Mack

I only just realised I never posted the final pics of the bike, sorry guys but here is what I have. It is now up for sale in NZ as I have decided to take some time out and help the folks down in Houston area clean up after Ike.
Voluntary labour to help out those who lost most of everything down there, and it is going well so far. I arrived just about 2 weeks after the storm and have been doing what I can ever since. Have stripped out houses, rebuilt pumphouses, fences, roofs, and a wide assortment of other bits and pieces. Picked up bits of boats and god knows what else, and a few more unsavoury things besides.
I have attached the only photo's of the bike I have with me, sorry for the poor quality, but it is all I have now. I had to sell it to get back over here and help out.
