Re: Long time no post...

I was taking a chance of bedliner sticking to itself on another layer-- and Im happy to report it does!!!

This crap has a 4 part mix (real stuff, but spray can). laid on with an undercoating gun.
after the first layer hardened (only 20 minutes like bondo-- gotta be quick) i masked off the flames... as you normally would.
lo tak tape..
then cut out the flames as normal, mix and shoot the flames...
only this time, in about 5 minutes after you shoot it, it begins to harden... i had to very quickly chase the tape edges with a zacto knife peeling it off before it fully hardended... or i would had sealed the tape under the 2nd coat of rubber.
smalle jobs like bikes i know now, would be fine. anything larger, there wouldnt be enough time to take the tape off before it hardended..
I was after sopmething different, and went for a 3D raised flame which worked....

Re: Long time no post...

I have seen that done before.I think it looks great.I wonder if you could get away with using a different color over top the base coat? Or would the black bleed through.Still very nice. KA
