Yes! Do you remove the bolt that secures it? Dig you dig a bunch of crap out of it already or was it that clean???? A picture is worth a 1000 words.Once the plug is out, you will want to back out the flywheel bolt that secures the tube internally. Now, to remove the tube there are many methods, use a hook to get at it, maybe a modified slide hammer or the best I find is a big screw extracter. Once you get the tube to rotate a little its all downhill.

Re: help crankshaft prolbs

yes it has all three bolts removed and was clean as u see , with a tiny flat screw driver i pull very little out is the debris suppose to be seen after u get the tube out? or is it maybe not the cause of spundbearing , i can get it out but if its not that dirty maybe because i changed oil 3 times in less than a 100 miles cause it was left so long at my cus house . also i had no oil cap on my oil tank when i ck after engine let loose. E9488/20 is piston no. that a .020 over bore number ...............also i found someone to turn crank rabers in san jose so should i just give them crank and rods and have them turn and match up some oversize bearings?

It looks clean, normally when you remove the cap it is right there, plugged solid! How does it look in the rest of the tube, any grunge further back? The grunge will be inside the tube. That sounds like a .020 piston. Give them the crank assy, rods and brgs. I am amazed if that tube is clean throughout!!

Cool Re: help crankshaft prolbs

yea i was happy to see that it was clean myself, my cus bill that i got the bike from has a few bikes (u know how that goes) and he's getting up in age so he didnt ride it much when he did ride. he always said " i kept rolling into road crossings changing gears instead of braking ) lol and when he bought it he seems to reamber that it had just been rebuildt.
there was no ridge at top of cylinder bores and when i broke it down when i got it i was mostly dissasembling and doing major clean up from water in crank case and cluch and main drive had same years of mosture build up and carb or exh. rain ..who knows but once i started there was no stoping on the clean up, i thought just running diesl and krosen. in main caseing would clean out enough , then i read and heard the nightmares on that slugtrap .... was always kickn myself in the ass for not splitn the cases then.

only a little grabage like a drop of heavy discolored oil with a alum.marble like super metalflake paint.

good news today is someones coming to look at my engine in that old surb . selling it will make machine work and parts on the trump happen this week and still be able to feed the dog .....lol

now if i can sell the body 1961 surb other racing junk (as my brothers call it) they love to help me clean up........ why is it what i have is junk,.........and what they have is stuff...lol go figuret .....here is a clip of what im looking at .........with a little luck may be rolling down the road in a week or two...........make that a lot of luck and elbow grease.
