engine for my current build

'90 model Evo.. The yellow rings below the rocker covers came stock in '90 on the Fat Boy.. There were 7 yellow rings on the bike, just as there were 7 yellow rings on the nuclear bomb, "Fat Boy", that we dropped in Japan.. Harley denies doing this intentionally, I guess to be politically correct. However, there is too much coincidence for it not to be some truth to it. Anyhow, the yellow rings will be powdered black just as every other chrome piece on the motor will be done. Might do the jugs and heads too..

Great looking motor. Can't beat an H-D power plant.
I didn't know that about the rings. Bet not many do. Coincidence? Not likely. More of a corprate shot i think. lol.

I kinda lucked out on the motor Enfield. I had been looking for a 1200 Buell engine for my project. Looked about a month and nothing turned up.. Then, one Sunday morning while I was on the Horse swap meet page, someone posted that this engine was on Craiglist in Raleigh, NC, (1 1/2 hours from my house) for $1200!! I called the guy and we hooked up promptly. The guy I got it from was one of those types that doesn't allow a speck of oil or grime on his stuff. The motor is very clean. he said it only had 30K on the bottom end, and the top end had been done 7K ago. Standard bore still. Got an Andrews cam in it. He said it was very strong engine. he only replaced it in his Fat Boy because he wanted a big bore motor.. He was acting regretful that he had changed it as he said the big bore was temperamental, and he did not have the bugs worked out of it yet. Anyhow, that's where I am with my engine for the project..

Yes, the carb came with it. The breather is kinda deceptive as it is a CV carb with an S&S breather. The guy I bought it from said it was jetted and ran superbly, and he said to change NOTHING.. I'll give her a whirl as is and see what the deal is.
