81 Ironhead Project

Here is a shot of the progress on my Sporty. If ya'll remember, I posted awhile back that I went to Colorado Springs to pick this thing up. Well, I've fixed the leaks (LOL), and done alittle fabricating. I cut the pipes apart and reconfigured (big word) them into shotguns. I moved the rear fender alittle so the assend is down and welded at least 10 holes in it up. Going to put a solo seat on it. These changes are just until I save enough cash for a weld-on hardtail. I'm painting it foo foo can flat black until It's hardtailed and then I will pick out a color for it. Once this is finished, I am doing a little project on my Shovelhead that Hooty helped me out with. Thanx again, Hooty. Hope ya enjoy the pic. Will post the finished bike soon. Later, J. Rotten

Re: 81 Ironhead Project

Check out the sale page on the JJ site (jockey journal), someone there has a flyright hard tail frame for a sporty for sale pretty reasonably if I remember correctly and it was a pretty nice frame.

And I hate to be critical but you moved that rear fender the wrong way, that ducktail is supposed to be sticking up in the air just behind the top center of the tire - in my opinion, feel free to tell me to stick it. Love the pipes and the short front fender, looks good.

Yeah, the fender is temporary too. This was a real budget build. Right after I got this bike, I lost my part time job. I'm retired and the job was my scoot money so until I find another way to make some extra cash, this will have to do for awhile. Thanx, and later.
