I bought this 1973 TR7 Tiger with a 5 speed that was just a pile of parts. About 4 years ago. And with that and what I had laying around I put this bike together. Very low budget, low tech.I did it in a small single car garage.Anything that needed welded I had to haul it into work and do it there.I think it was the loudest bike I have ever owned.I did after a while add 3in baffles to the pipes it cut the nosie back and took the surge out of it.The bike always started by the third kick.I wasat a bike night here in Jville and went to leave had some folks standing right behind the bike.I told them that they might want to move away for a second while I start it.Well you know they had to be tough guys and not move. Man I jumped and came down on that thing the first kick it jumped to life scared the snot out of a couple of the people staanding there. Then they started fussing.I warned them.LOL.I have a lot of good stories with this bike.I'll add a few more later. http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...iger%20Bobber/
Out of ALL the bikes I have had this bike was the most fun. From buying all the pieces.Going and picking up the parts. The bike was very simple. It wasn't a show stopper. Out of the hole the bike really hooked up.I had a chain break once.I had a white t-shirt on and had a chain mark running up my back never felt a thing. When I first put it together it was purple with the 60s era speeding wood pecker decal on the tank. Then I noticed the color of fram oil filters. So the orange is a mixing color. From the body shop from work.If you look on the right rear frame there is a really cool inline oil filter. It hard to see but is sold by Mapp cycle here in Fl. Nice set up.I haven't ever seen anybody else use one.The rear lighting is a little over kill but here in the Q-tip,bluehair capital of the US you need all the rear lighting you can get.LOL!!Thanks Ken
