My first leather work in over half a century..

Well I have wanted a solo seat for my Ironhead for a couple of years. I was going to have one made but money and events have prevented me from doing it. I had purchased a seat pan over a year ago with the intent of sending it off to be covered.

Well it has been sitting around for quite a while so I decided to try and do it myself..

It took me about 6 hours. I did a very simple design, plus I do not have a lot of tools to work with.

Here is the end results...

what color do you want to use? the state of calif has made it so we don't have alchol base dyes anymore i have a lot of black if that is what you want otherwise the new dyes are water based and they suck, usually the best way to use them is to actually case the leather with the dyes and tool and keep casing as you go with the dye. as you use the dye to do its deed you will notice that it don't cover to well I have tried to use kool aid with denatured alchol don't work so I am open to suggestions to make my own dyes damn left wingers won again can't buy snake skins in cal or good dyes

Nice work piggly, I just checked out our photos of your word. But I must say your wife looks better than you do..lol

I may take a trip to Tandy in sacto and get what I need. I am going to go black with kind of natural in the center where the carving is..
